A private house in the South West of France
Six bedrooms. Ancient walls. A secluded pool. And the Lot Valley at your feet.
There are places you stay,
and places you remember.

Maison Laparade is a 13th century house hidden behind ancient stone walls in the hilltop bastide village of Laparade, overlooking the dramatic landscape of the Lot Valley
Known affectionately by locals as “Le Château”, the house combines the romance and grandeur of its history with the comfort and ease of a beautifully restored private home.

Behind its gates lies a wonderful retreat for up to fourteen guests, with six double bedrooms, four en suite, two further bathrooms, elegant reception rooms, a generous country kitchen and a secluded walled garden with a sun-drenched swimming pool.

And then there is the view.
Open the gates and the landscape unfolds before you in spectacular fashion, stretching across the Lot Valley towards the distant horizon.
On exceptionally clear days, the peaks of the Pyrenees can be glanced in the distance. It is the sort of view that encourages you to linger over breakfast, pour another glass of wine at sunset and forget, for a while, what time it is.
La Maison
A house steeped in history
Maison Laparade has been lovingly restored, preserving its extraordinary period character while discreetly introducing the comforts of contemporary life.
The house retains all the romance one hopes to find in a historic French property and an unmistakable sense of grandeur.
Yet nothing has been sacrificed in the name of nostalgia. There is excellent fibre broadband, a beautifully equipped kitchen, modern heating throughout, hairdryers in every bedroom and a plethora of mod-cons.

The exceptionally thick walls also help keep the house naturally cool and airy, making it remarkably comfortable even during the height of summer.
There are two elegant salons, perfect for long afternoons with a book or relaxed evenings.
A spacious country-style kitchen where a wood-burning stove creates a particularly inviting atmosphere during cooler months adjoins a separate dining room providing the perfect setting for long, convivial dinners.
Your own private garden and pool.
Outside, the house opens onto a beautifully secluded courtyard garden, entirely enclosed within its walls creating wonderful privacy.
The swimming pool basks in sunshine throughout the day, while several different terraces and seating areas invite you to find your own favourite corner.
Enjoy lunch beneath the summer sky, settle into the shade with a novel during the afternoon or gather around the table for an evening of food and wine.

There is something particularly luxurious about having nowhere you need to be.
